What prediction markets are

Prediction markets let you buy and sell shares in the outcome of real-world events. On Polymarket, a YES share in “Will the Fed cut rates in June 2026?” pays $1 if the event happens and$0 if it doesn’t. Current prices reflect the crowd’s probability estimate — if YES trades at $0.44, the market implies a 44% chance of a rate cut. You profit by identifying markets where the price is wrong.
